Alyza is a rising junior at Emory University in Atlanta, GA studying Economics and Spanish. Her attraction to the intricacies of free speech arose from her Civil Liberties course in the spring of her first year. Because she has experienced the effects of a “woke” culture and political correctness on campus, she was intrigued by just how much students’ free speech is unprotected. Alyza hopes to leverage her experience with Speech First to increase awareness about the institutional censorship of young adults seeking open discourse in higher education. She is beyond excited to work with the organization this summer.
