Prospective Students, Parents Must Take Ownership of College Decision Process

With National College Decision Day coming up on May 1 (and the admissions cheating scandal dominating headlines), it seems more complicated than ever for high school seniors and their parents to figure out which college pennant is worth a lifetime allegiance and tens of thousands of dollars in debt. Beyond the shiny pamphlets and bottom line, however, it’s important that families also consider how a college or university handles issues related to civil liberties – because unfortunately, these problems aren’t always known to families until it’s too late.
